CD3 gives us most of the US DECCA recordings including the engineer announcing the recording number and what take it was. Tracks 13 and 14 are Jingles that Norman Petty asked Buddy and the Crickets to make for Bob Thiele at Brunswick Records and Murray Deutch at Southern Music.
Joe B. Mauldin's song "Last Night" was one of the songs presented on "The Chirping Crickets" UK CORAL LVA9081 album in 1957, one of my favourite songs from my all-time favourite album, it's presented here without the backing vocals featuring "The Picks" which were added just a few days later. This version of "Not Fade Away" is not the released version and has only partial backing vocals. Tracks 21 to 24 are the only known Buddy Holly songs that were recorded in true stereo and feature a pre-amble and countdown on all tracks.(Some say that Buddy recorded "Early In The Morning" and "Now We're One" in experimental stereo but if he did, no-one has found them yet.)
