"Giant" was released in
1969 and showed that Petty was running out of material to keep Holly's
name alive. The equipment that was available to clean up some of these
recordings had now improved and was used to full advantage, none more so
than "Blue Monday" where Buddy's voice is at times completely drowned by
the drums of J.I.... The result was very acceptable!
"You're
The One" was given a synthesiser backing and generally The Fireballs didn't
intrude too much on the original sounds to spoil them.
