Hollyville U.K. takes a brief personal
look at

Jiles Perry Richardson (Jape) was a
complete extrovert on stage and on air, a positive dynamo of talent that
exuded energy and vitality. Jiles was born on October 24th 1930 in Sabine Pass, Texas. Whilst attending Lamar State College in Beaumont, Texas he got a job as a Singer/ Disc Jockey and started to call himself "The Big Bopper". My first recollection of The Big Bopper was
when I heard "Chantilly Lace" on the radio and of course I immediately
went out and purchased a copy of the single.
Because his recordings were
so few his record company were unable to keep his posthumous career going
like Buddy Holly's
record company.

baby You Know What I Like"

Because The
Big
Bopper's
Star shone so brightly during those mad few moments of fame , his fans
remember him with affection and joy.
