I
truly can't remember if I cried or if I thought that the music died but
I'm pretty sure that as the years passed I knew that the songs that Buddy
had made were of the very best quality and that I was sure that there was
no one out there to replace the sheer width of styles that he had accomplished
in his short time in and out of the spotlight.

This
album cover has got to be just about the rarest covers in the world because
it was an in-store offer sold by Marks & Spencer in the U.K. in 1980....
the only problem was that they just didn't publicize the fact that they
were selling records!

This
photo was taken in one of those booths whilst Buddy and Waylon Jennings
had a few spare moments on the "Winter Dance
Party" tour that proved to be such a disaster
for all who participated. The cold unreliable buses arrived late at each
destination and gave the entourage no time to get clean laundry or attend
to vital business. However from this picture it seems that it wasn't all
misery!

This
acetate on the right is of "That's What They
Say" which was a planned release by DECCA
in 1970 but never made it to the shops unfortunately. In the U.K. Buddy's
early Decca singles were put out on Brunswick (as shown by the pre-release
demo single on the left. Buddy's Coral recordings were released at first
on Vogue-Coral but later the two names were split to become separate labels.
