This album was given to me by Alan Woodham who is featured on my "Reminiscing" page elswhere on on this site and dates from 1975. It sold in great quantities making EMI sit up and pay attention to the name Buddy Holly. They had decided to put this disc out on their budget label "Music For Pleasure" a label in the main dedicated to the release of back catalogue and saw this as an expansion into the previously untapped teen market.
The brand had been associated with stodgy M-O-R music, so this album was a departure from their image.
Later in 1975 and on the strength of this one album EMI's mail order only label put out the first Box-set of Buddy's work in the U.K. comprising of 5 albums.
The rear of the sleeve bears the sentence "These Mono tracks have been electronically processed to give a stereo effect" but in truth side 2 contains 3 stereo tracks.
