Something Special From Buddy Holly

This is a gem of an album from Rollercoaster Records that features undubbed raw songs some of which were recorded by Bobby Peeples using a home tape recorder. They probably would not have been released by MCA because the recording quality is not of the standard required by today's discerning general public. Nevertheless all Buddy's fans would beg, steal or borrow just to get their hands on a copy.
The album features tracks that Norman Petty would overdub and use on the albums "Showcase" and "Giant" and are known to Holly collectors as the so called "garage recordings".
Blue Monday is an example where Petty's skills are used to great effect, for at times Holly's voice is completely drowned by Allison's drumming, yet on overdubbed versions this is minimized by the clever addition of the Fireballs backing.
