Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets

After leaving Clovis, New Mexico and Petty's managership J.I. Alison worked as a session drummer for Liberty Records as well as making records as The Crickets, however the membership of the group was now constantly changing particularly as both Sonny Curtis and J.I. had to do their two years National Service in the armed forces.
This Album was recorded during September 1961 and I suppose it was a natural progression for both Bobby and The Crickets since Vee had replaced Buddy Holly on the Winter Dance Party tour and The Crickets were now recording for Liberty.
The First twelve tracks were on the initial release and on the CD issue in 1991 there were a further nine tracks from the '61 session and a final track from Bobby Vee's Rockhouse label was included as a tribute to Buddy Holly.
